Description

The Lumenition Optronic ignition system is immune to dirt, cam wear and dust. It requires no maintenance, has no moving parts to wear out and is maintenance free.

Infrared light is received by a silicone photo transistor. This light beam is interrupted by a plastic "butterfly" mounted on the distributor shaft and has an interrupter blade for each cylinder. The butterfly is not obstructed by light, dirt and vapor. The optical switch is mounted on the same distributor plate to which the contacts were attached, so that vacuum and centrifugal advance remain unchanged.

This system is for replacing the original contact points with the use of the original ignition coil. This system offers modern ignition performance and is ideal for classic cars and even motor boats.
