Bell's chin bars are designed to reduce lift and add downforce to the front of the helmet and can be used on duckbill or non-duck beak helmets. As the airflow passes over the helmet, it separates near the shield area and slides down to capture the chin bar and increase aerodynamic downforce on the helmet.
